Our one day Navigation Course is designed to take you back to the basics of using a map and compass to navigate confidently and enjoy the outdoors. We will teach you the theory of navigation and you will put into practice your new skills in the beautiful Peak District countryside.

About the event
This is a one day course designed to give you the confidence and skills to safely navigate through the lowlands and hills of Great Britain.
You will learn the theory of maps, scales, map symbols and grid references, plus learn to use a compass, orientate your map, check your direction and follow bearings.
This is a hands-on day with lots of opportunity to learn and practice under the friendly supervision of an experienced and fully qualified mountain leader.
You will absorb plenty of information and build useful skills that can be applied in future navigation situations.
